The new wedding trend, caused by covid

My heart goes out to anyone who had to postpone their wedding due to the pandemic. One minute you're counting down the days until you say 'I do' and then covid struck and ruined your plans. It's heartbreaking. But what it has done, is start a new trend. Created by those couples who couldn't wait to marry each other and didn't want to postpone their weddings until 2022, so they had very small intimate weddings which will be followed by a big blowout party, which let's face it, everyone will be enormously excited about, after a rather uneventful 2020!
Two part weddings are now becoming a thing, and this comes with some great benefits. Will this trend be here to stay I wonder?
The benefits of marry now, party later
- You get a lovely romantic, intimate ceremony with just your immediate family.
- You then have more time to save for your party and can perhaps have a bigger reception than you would have had, if you had held both events on the same day.
- You've already done the legal bit, so you can just have a blessing at your second wedding which makes it that bit more personal as you get to design it yourself.
- Here's the big one ladies..... you get to wear your dress TWICE! You've spent all that money on your beautiful wedding dress and now you get to wear it twice, and of course, if you have the budget to buy 2 wedding dresses then we say why not!
